SLEA Therapies is a 100% employee-owned multidisciplinary agency servicing individuals of all ages, populations and disorders which is headquartered in Encino, California. The company was founded by Helen Sherman-Wade and provides Behavior Intervention, Child Development, Educational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Helen grew up with polio and her dream Helen’s dream was to build a practice where clients needing multiple services can be seen in one place and SLEA was born. SLEA Therapies became employee-owned in 2018 when they implemented a Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The integrity of the business was important to Helen; she didn't want programs be removed if they were not profitable. As owners, employees at SLEA treat each client as their own.
