Shawmut Group Inc. (Shawmut) is a 100% employee-owned national construction management company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. The company was founded by Jim Ansara in 1982 in Boston. Since then it has grown to 15 locations, over 1,100 employees,  and is among the top 60 largest general contractors in the United States.     Shawmut became employee-owned in 1997 when they implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). As a 100% employee-owned company, Shawmut’s people have a vested interest in the success of clients, projects, and each other.
