Bernards is a 100% employee-owned company in the commercial construction industry headquartered in San Fernando, California. Bernards provides technical expertise and outstanding construction services to developers, corporations, educational institutions, and public agencies. The company was founded in 1974 by three young brothers who set out to fulfill a dream of starting a business. Driven by their passion for building, a strong work ethic, and an entrepreneurial sprit, their dream came to life. The integrity and commitment to customer service the brothers showed during the company’s early years continues on and is reflected in the company culture of today.

In 2017, Bernards became employee-owned when it established it Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).  This allowed the company to keep the family culture fully intact while providing employees with a stake in the future success of the company. This is exemplified in their mission to provide a better experience for their customers, industry partners, and their employee owners. 

Over the past nearly 50 years, Bernards has grown to employee over 350 employee owners and counting. They've also expanded to six offices with a large presence throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, Central Valley and Central Coast.
