Ben Tire Distributors, Ltd. (“Ben Tire”) was founded in 1925 by the family of Burnham E. Neal as a small tire and auto repair operation in central Illinois. In 1950, Burnham E. Neal started the wholesaling of tires to other tire dealers and service stations through his company. This marked the beginning of the Company’s current wholesale business.

The Company grew over the years into a large regional retail and wholesale operation with stores and distribution centers in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. Ben Tire currently operates 26 retail locations under the name Neal Tire and Auto and 6 distribution centers under the name Ben Tire Distributors, Ltd. in its market area, and employs approximately 300 individuals across the three states. The company established the Ben Tire ESOP in 1991, and on April 21, 2016, the company became 100% employee-owned.
