AVID Products is a 100% employee-owned company that manufactures audio products, headquartered in Middleton, Rhode Island. Founded in 1953 by Robert C. Allen, AVID embarked on its journey with a mission to pioneer and develop audio products for both home and commercial use. The company is aptly named for its initial focus on Audio Visual Instructional Devices.  In 1961, AVID marked a milestone collaboration with TWA, leading to the development of the world's first in-flight pneumatic headphones, setting new standards in airline entertainment. This landmark achievement paved the way for AVID to supply in-flight entertainment headphones to an impressive 97% of the world's airlines. Since then, AVID has expanded to develop audio products, comfort items, entertainment accessories, and service solutions to six markets, education, healthcare, fitness, recreation, hospitality, and travel. Today, their products can be purchased at certified resellers or from AVID directly. 

In 2013, AVID Products became employee-owned when they implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The ownership culture at AVID is guided by their core values of expertise, collaboration, empowerment, and ingenuity.
