Founded by Clyde Filcher in 1977, the company was originally a sewer and drain cleaning service. Recognizing a growing demand for reliable and safe work within the nuclear and industrial sectors, the company expanded its services. Today, the company is committed to delivering secure work environments and the highest quality industrial cleaning and environmental services in the Southeastern United States.

In 2015, Augusta Industrial Services became employee-owned when they implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
