Ames Construction is a 100% employee-owned construction company headquartered in Burnsville, Minnesota. The company was founded by Dick Ames in 1962 in Lakeville, Minnesota. It has grown to ~3,500 employees across nine locations in seven states and is ranked 62 in the top 400 General Contractors in ENR magazine as of 2024. Ames Construction became employee-owned in 2024 when they implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The Ames family of owners believed the right thing to do was to entrust Ames Construction to the people who helped build it. As an employee-owned company, Ames Construction is made up of people who pour their heart and soul into our success every day.
