Western Lighting opened in 1996 as a small sales agency servicing the San Diego lighting community. Since then, Western has grown to be one of the strongest and most respected agencies in Southern California.

In 2019, Western Lighting became employee-owned when it established its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). As owners, the employees at Western are committed to offering responsive service and innovative products to professionals in the lighting and energy control industry. Their goal is to provide product solutions that are efficient but ensure every project has a successful outcome. When the company is successful, employees at Western Lighting all share that success.
